Any search online will bring up a multitude of subliminal songs. i.e. songs with subliminal suggestions in them.

You can find anything from classics such as the Led Zeppelin stairway to heaven subliminal messages to the modern popstarts such as Lady Gaga, Madonna, and Justin Timberlake using them.

There is debate whether musicians intentionally put subliminal messages in their music or whether it is purely a coincidence. Most musicians simply deny using them. However when you watch some of these music videos or listen to the songs in reverse there are some pretty clear subliminal messages which can be heard. Messages which are just clear to be just a coincidence.

The craze of subliminal messages in songs started in 1967 when Led Zeppelins released “Stairway to Heaven”. people analysed the video and claimed there were hidden satanic messages where the line starts “so there's a bushell in your hedgerow”. People played the song in reverse and found a message saying “Here's to my Sweet Satan”. This caused alot of anger from religous commnities and even public outcry - but Led Zeppelin stayed quiet and denied any messages were inserted intentionally.

But the denial was irrelevant, phenomenon of subliminal backmasking in songs was created!

People started looking for messages, while more artists started putting them in their music. Subliminals have since been found in:

Britney Spears – telling people “sleep with me I’m not too young” in her first single.

Nirvana – a message saying “I hate you” in their hit single Smells Like Teen Spirit.

Tupac – claiming to be still alive.

Queen – suggesting that you try smoking Cannibis.

Lady Gaga – saying “have sex” in her "just dance" - her very first debut single.
